BOSTON, MA - June 30, 2000 -FlipPad International (FPI), creator of the FlipPad™ backhoe stabilizer unit that flips for use on dirt or pavement, has announced that its patented laminated rubber shoe has been designed to fit John Deere loader backhoes. The rubber shoe, which already is appearing in dealerships and rental companies across the country, was designed to replace the current factory installed rubber shoes.
According to FPI Co-founder, Andris Lagsdin, the shoe was designed, by request, for a Dealer that bought other rubber replacement pad products from FPI. "Customers were looking for a more durable, longer wearing replacement shoe for their John Deere loader backhoes," says Lagsdin. "We're starting to get requests from other backhoe dealers and rental companies wanting more durable rubber pads for the factory-installed shoes."
The rubber shoe uses a patented technology where 8 to 10 rubber segments (called "coupons") are assembled with an angle iron and welded (laminated) together to make one unit. This process increases the life and traction of the pad.
A number of manufacturers make rubber replacement shoes that are molded, rather than laminated. But according to Lagsdin, "the molded pads chunk and fall apart sometimes within just one day of use." "It's the laminated rubber segments that makes our rubber shoe unique," says Lagsdin.
The key element to the success of the shoe is its ability to withstand extreme usage and resistance to chunking under any condition or temperature extremes that occur when using a stabilizer unit on pavement.
